I Try So Hard...
So I've been trying my best to take up playing the guitar. Such a beautiful sound and look. I said to myself...That looks like a wonderful thing to play.
I was wrong. Why in the world is music so painful? Although, guess I can't really complain, because my fingers are kinda numb.
Oh! I have a brother now! Yeah...so it's getting harder to find time for everything I put myself into. SO...that's why posts have been non-existent.
So this is just an update. Ta ta!

In Christ Alone
So here we are in a new year. Some of us are rejoicing in the thought of new possibilities, others are dreading the long year that awaits them. Some have made their New Years resolutions, and are trucking along in high hopes. But the truth is...most of us won't carry out our New Years resolutions. Why? Well, things get in the way, or school or work, whatever. We'll always find something that's in the way.
But really, how different is NY resolutions than any other part of our lives? We are constantly making promises or plans, or goals that never end up happening. Then, we wonder why we do those things. Why we fail so often. Why we never think of ourselves to be good enough...
So, looking for encouragement, we'll go to our friends, or family. We'll go to people we look up to. And they'll scold us for thinking so low of ourselves. They'll say that we are good enough and they'll use words like 'awesome' and 'great'. And they'll say to just believe in our selves and don't give up.
Then, thriving on false hope and encouragement, we try and fail again. And the cycle starts all over again.
Don't think that you are apt of this, none of us are! I do this all the time. So do you. The reason is because all those things about us are true! We aren't good enough. And we never will be.
Don't worry, I'm making you think so low of yourself for a reason. The problem with us is that we forget. We drift away from what really matters and we begin to rely on ourselves, when we should be relying on the Savior! How often we forget that we are born into a world of sin and will always have that sin-like nature! Of course we're not good enough! We're human!
It is only in Christ alone that we will truly find strength to carry on. Only in Him can we really live and be glad.
In Christ Alone
Philippians 4:13~ "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
Remember who saved us from our sin and washed us clean! Put all of your trust and goals on Him and everything turns out great! Because only Jesus is truly 'awesome' and 'great'!!!
So tell Jesus about your NY resolution and make it happen!

Life: Bold and Dashing
You know that you are different than others. And you've tried to emphasize that to people, but no matter what you do...you will still be stereotyped and put into certain categories that just don't fit. After someone been knowing me for a while (at least 30 seconds)...many people have told me that I'm different (weird, enthusiastic, unique... etc). And they've failed to figure me out. Even I had begun to wonder why I thought the way I did. So I began looking for a suitable explanation for this fact.
One night, last month, me and my family had the privilege of going out to dinner to a Chinese place we hadn't been to in awhile. We took our time eating and sat talking about the random things we do. I hadn't been paying much attention to the average conversation of my parents. Instead I was in my own world of thought (as I often am), thinking about life and who to describe myself.
Eventually the waitress came by with the bill and set three little fortune cookies on top of it. We talked little more, and as we were preparing to leave, I picked up the cookie nearest to me and opened it. The vanilla cookie is never hard to open...as I did so, i could see the lucky numbers on the back, and the Chinese word they always try to teach you (I should be fluent by now). I let the cookie drop and i flipped over the little piece of paper. And nothing could have prepared me to read what I did. It read:
"Life for you is a bold and dashing responsibility."
It hit me like someone threw a brick t me. At first I thought, who could have possibly described my outlook and self-mission in life? And so well? How could they have known that I had been searching for such a definition? And what a definition it was!
Often friends have told me that they don't understand why certain things mean so much to me. Why my outlook on life is so much different than everyone else. Why...some little thing that others wouldn't normally ever worry about...I worry about. And there was the answer. Staring at me from my hand.
The fortune cookie has only succeeded in making it's statement even more true. Now that I have that perfect definition. I strive on it.
When I got home, I placed the fortune on my computer desk and stared at it for a moment. And the next big thought hit me. Hard. I thought, what are the odds that I got that cookie? The cookie that was perfect for me to hear...fell into MY hands. God knew that I had been searching for an answer...and He gave me one.
"Seek and you will find." ~Matthew 7:7
I write this as a multiple message. One: To encourage you to find your definition. To accurately describe how you see the world and who you are. Don't settle for a stereotype, you're more than that! Two: Keep searching. I don't care what it is, keep searching! Be diligent. Do NOT back down. Believe in Matthew 7:7. "Ask and It shall be given unto you, seek and you will find." Remember that!
I will continue to be the best me I can be. I will continue to see life as an endless field of opportunity and importance. What will you do?
